Why Plan a Winter Vacation To Myrtle Beach?

Why Plan a Winter Vacation To Myrtle Beach?

Wednesday, February 19, 2014 – by OVR Staff
Have you ever thought about taking a winter vacation? Well, Myrtle Beach is one of top vacation destinations on the east coast, second only to Disney World. While many of us have vacationed in Myrtle Beach after school lets out, why not steal away for some family time during the winter? It’s loaded with perks and benefits you might not think about….Here are just a few.

in Myrtle Beach is usually very mild, with average temps in the 50’s or 60’s during the day and usually 40’s to 50’s at night. This makes walking on the beach wonderful! You still have the warmth of the sun on your face, and it’s not too cold to enjoy being out there. If you’re a Canadian or a die-hard snow bird, you probably won’t mind Winter actually taking a dip in the surf either, although most of us normal people will find the 50 degree ocean temperature a bit chilly!
Let’s talk crowds. Anyone who’s vacationed in Myrtle Beach knows it’s a hotbed of crowds and lines at the local attractions. However, during the winter months, many attractions are still open, minus all that wait time! If you’ve ever been here in the summer, then you also know how congested the traffic can be since 80% of vacationers drive to Myrtle Beach. When you come during off-season, you will cut your drive time around town in half, especially downtown or on Ocean Blvd., which is at a slow crawl during the summer. The smaller crowds in the winter months also mean you can practically have the beach all to yourself! If you love collecting seashells, then doing it in the early mornings during the off-season is one of the best ways to get some true gems! You’ll be amazed at what you find.
Finally, the best reason of all—it’s CHEAPER! Who doesn’t love a great deal?? No matter how you slice it, coming to Myrtle Beach in the winter is much less expensive. Gas is cheaper, food is cheaper, and most of all, hotels and condos are MUCH cheaper! You can get a huge beach house that is super nice, bring some family or friends, and split that cost between you and end up paying far less than you would even in a cheap motel. This is a GREAT way to enjoy the best accommodations for a fraction of the cost. Many area attractions have discounted rates during the winter, so you can see shows and other events for far less than you would in the summer.
With all these great reasons, what are you waiting for? Make your plans and call us today to book your affordable, perfect place to stay in Myrtle Beach! You’ll be surprised what awaits you!
