Military Appreciation Days
Many attractions and restaurants all up and down the Grand Strand will be offering discounts to military and their families. There will also be a traveling Vietnam Memorial Wall, which is a moving experience for all of us to see. Montel Williams will be our Grand Marshall at our Memorial Day Parade, and the festivities will include live big band music by Andrew Thielen and his Big Band orchestra, as well as a 5k run among many other fun events. The city of Myrtle Beach will also give some our wounded warriors and their families some greatly deserved rest and relaxation by sponsoring a vacation for them.
This is the sixth year of hosting Military Appreciation Days here in Myrtle Beach and we could not be more proud or grateful for the men and women who make America’s military the best in the world! Be sure to join in the fun on Saturday, May 24th, 2014 at 10:30am when the parade starts on Ocean Blvd! Also, please feel free to come join us on May 26th at the Convention Center for the official Memorial Day Ceremony as we say thank you to our veterans. They deserve so much more than what we can give them, but we want them to feel our love and support by having as many people as possible out there to celebrate them with us!
Finally, if you’re a movie lover, be sure to visit the main branch of Chapin Memorial Library as they show military themed movies on Fridays through the month of May. Movies will start at 1:30 pm in the meeting room on the first floor of the library located at 14th Ave. North in Myrtle Beach. You can see a list of the movies online.
We’re looking forward to seeing you here in Myrtle Beach this month as we honor our military families!
